Industry Leaders from 9 Countries Gather at Asia Pacific Game Summit
With the gaming industry becoming globalized, professionals and experts from gaming industries across the globe are gathering at the 2018 Asia Pacific Game Summit (APGS), which is held at Conference Room 2 and Conference Room 3 at Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) Hall 1 from January 25 to 26. This year, the Summit boasts a total of 21 sessions, focusing on cross-regional operations and sales, eSports industry development, and game development technologies. Speakers from overseas are invited to share their views on eSports, market trends, game development, operations and marketing, and virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies.
Day 1 of B2B Zone Focusing on eSports and Future Trends in Southeast Asia
At APGS, Director of Esports and Business Development, TW/HK/SE Asia, BLIZZARD ENTERTAINMENT, INC., which is known for its highly popular PC games such as the Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo series, will talk about Blizzard Entertainment’s ambitions in eSports as well as Taiwan’s role in its roadmap for expanding eSports presence.
A highlight of APGS is the “eSports Panel”, where panelists from the industry, government, academia, and professional esport teams discuss and provide insights into eSports in Taiwan. The moderator of the Panel is Manager of Yahoo TW Esports, also, panelists included Secretary of Chinese Taipei eSports Association (CTEA); Publishing and Esports Director of Riot Games; Head of Department of Computer and Communication Engineering, Taipei City University; and Team Leader of the Flash Wolves.
In addition, Hirokazu Hamamura, who is now the President of Gzbrain Inc., Auditor of Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA), shared his views on the Japanese game market and the future development of eSports. Mr. Hamamura formerly worked as the Chief Editor of Famitsu, a leader in the Japanese gaming media industry, with decades of experiences in the industry. Using his pen name over many years, contributing to major media in Japan and work on being an influential observer of the gaming industry.
