SXSW Gaming Award Winners Added to "War of Awards"

War of Awards, a video game award mega-battle, has announced the latest video game nominees added to this year’s program.

The most recent nominees to be entered into the awards showdown were drafted in from the SXSW Gaming Awards, announced on March 17, 2018. The SXSW Gaming Awards are compiled among the results of more than 500,000 public votes from gamers around the world.

The newest nominees to be entered into the program from the SXSW Gaming awards are Horizon Zero Dawn for “Art Direction” and PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS for “Best New/IP Debut”.

Several other categories saw additional plugs from SXSW Gaming for titles such as Cuphead, NieR: Automata, Super Mario Odyssey, What Remains of Edith Finch, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

With the SXSW Gaming Awards wrapped for the season, the updated War of Awards nominees list is:

Final winners of the War of Awards will be determined by attendees of PAX East, the Penny Arcade Expo held in Boston.

Voting will be conducted using an “Iowa caucus” live debate format on April 7 at 7 p.m. in the Cuttlefish Theatre inside the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.

Fans can make and track predictions at warofawards.org before each precursor award and as the PAX East finale gets closer.
