Atlantic Division Wins 2019 Overwatch League All-Star Game Powered by Intel; Shanghai Dragons’ “Diem” wins Widowmaker 1v1 event
The Atlantic Division defeated the Pacific Division in the Overwatch League 2019 All-Star Game Powered by Intel, winning 4 games to 1. The Atlantic squad jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first-to-four series and threatened to sweep, but the Pacific team managed to win Dorado before the Atlantic Division closed out the series with a win on Busan.
The full recap of Wednesday’s skill events is below:
Widowmaker 1v1
The Shanghai Dragons’ lone All-Star selection didn’t waste any time in making a name for himself, as “Diem” took down New York Excelsior’s “Nenne” to win the Widowmaker 1v1 event. “Diem” defeated the San Francisco Shock’s “Viol2t” and Seoul Dynasty’s “Fleta” to advance to the finals. Runner-up “Nenne” beat Philadelphia Fusion’s “Carpe” and Excelsior teammate “Pine” to advance.
All-Star Arcade Presented by State Farm
The Pacific Division All-Stars earned bragging rights by defeating their Atlantic Division counterparts 3-1 in the All-Star Arcade Presented by State Farm. The Pacific roster won Sibling Rivalry (6v6. 3 Genji’s and 3 Hanzo’s per team), Healers Never Die (6v6. Supports only), and Keeping the Peace (6v6. McCree only), while the Atlantic Division’s lone map win came on Terrible, Terrible Damage (6v6. Damage only).
Talent Takedown Presented by T-Mobile
The Overwatch League casting team split off into two teams in the Talent Takedown Presented by T-Mobile. And after the dust had settled (but the trash talk continued), it was the Atlantic Division that emerged victorious. The winning team was led by Brennon “Bren” Hook, whose Widowmaker play was impressive enough to earn him some respect on Twitter from Overwatch League teams.
