New York Game Awards 2021
Now in its 10th year, the annual New York Game Awards, presented by the New York Videogame Critics Circle, will have the most access ever to industry and entertainment luminaries and legends from around the globe in its virtual-only event. The previously in-person-only event will pivot to online-only for the 2021 Awards on January 26; streaming details will be announced closer to the event.
The 10th annual New York Game Awards will be hosted by Reggie Fils-Aimé, former President and COO of Nintendo of America, who was the recipient of the 2020 Andrew Yoon Legend Award at the 9th annual New York Game Awards ceremony. Hosting in tandem with Reggie will be New York Videogame Critics Circle founder and board president, Harold Goldberg.
“With the New York Game Awards going virtual, there are no limits to the amount of industry greats we can represent and have “on stage” at the Awards,” said New York Videogame Critics Circle founder and board president, Harold Goldberg. “We also have big news to share about the Andrew Yoon Legend Award, that we’ll announce later this year.”
“Last year, when I joined the New York Videogame Critics Circle as a board member, I never imagined we’d have to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the New York Game Awards only virtually,” said Reggie Fils-Aimé. “But we won’t let challenging times take away the opportunity to celebrate 10 years of honoring the best in gaming and acknowledging the Circle's important mentoring work in underserved communities. We have a stellar line-up of gaming industry greats that will be sure to wow nostalgic gaming fans and new gamers alike. And we will honor the best of gaming from 2020. This will be a 'must watch' event.”
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the New York Game Awards, the group of presenters and performers will be incomparable, including former Legend Award winners, great performances by returning musical guests and a collection of industry greats that will be announced soon. Announcements on Legend Award winners, game nominations and more will be announced in the coming months.
